Ultracoat IV Die

The convenience of on-line lip face offset tuning capability is what sets apart the Ultracoat IV series of slot dies. A differential thread offset adjusting system provides processors with precise control of the wiping lip position. Earlier Ultracoat versions require a shut down to exchange shims when the offset between the wet-side and dry-side lip faces needs to be changed. For applying low-viscosity or wet coating materials, Ultracoat dies provide greater precision than roll-coating material is applied to the substrate in a metered fashion, significant saving in raw materials can be realized. EDI's dedicated clean room for optimum grinding ensures die flatness, so that coat weight uniformity can be maximized. Ultracoat IV dies incorporate a flexible lip feature to refine coat weight distribution across the substrate and are available with manual or automatic lip adjusting mechanisms.
