Cascade Die

Liberty cascade dies are an excellent choice for multi-layer coating. This approach coats many layers on a single pass, allowing efficient creation of multi-layer web structures such as photographic film, magnetic tape, and advanced inkjet papers.

In a cascade coating, the fluid from the slot furthest away from the web becomes the topmost layer. As this fluid slides down the face of the die, additional coating layers flow in beneath the top layer. The coating from the slot closest to the web becomes the bottom layer.

Cascade dies yield outstanding coating results as part of a complete system including fluid delivery, a positioned, and a vacuum box. Cascade dies are constructed of stainless steel and are available in a complete range of coating widths.
