Extrusion Coating
Die and feedblock technologies for extrusion coating and laminating applications incorporate a number of specific features:
- Internally adjustable deckles for overall coating width and edge profile control (EPC).
- External back-up deckles that share a common drive with the internal deckles and are spring loaded for convenient operation.
- Sophisticated flow distribution channels, such as Multiflow V-G , that have a varying geometry in the center of the die which tapers to a constant geometry on each end to allow for full streamlined internal deckles.
- While manual control is available, most modern extrusion coating dies utilize the Autoflex VI feature for tight automated control of the coat weight uniformity.
- Lip heaters installed near the lip exit area help to tune the amount of oxidation that occurs in the lip gap for ideal adhesion to the substrate(s).
- Optional motorization of the deckle drive is available for “hands-free” remote operation.
- Accuflow I-S adjustable coextrusion feedblock technology helps tune layer uniformity during operation and Selector Spools allow for convenient layer sequence changes. Preset geometry Ultraflow feedblocks are also available for more dedicated applications.
